What was discussed

In an era when AI can analyze signs of the future, the session discussed the human role in connecting those insights to management decisions. In response to the problem that departments dealing with the future stop at gathering information and do not connect it to investment or decision-making, a prototype was introduced that immerses people in a future situation so they can experience decisions in simulation. An aesthetic sense for telling good AI output from bad, and the ability to give meaning to large amounts of information, were cited as functions on the human side. The leap of thought that connects different fields was also discussed, using the example of an accidental encounter between coral reef research and a microscope.

About this session

Opening Day 2 are two speakers running at the front of two companies, PwC and AWS. Building the foundation. How do we realise the base of an industry — something spoken of as obvious, yet so often put off until later? A special session in which the frontier of orchestrating knowledge in the age of AI is discussed at full strength, first thing in the morning.
